Casey and I met on January 23, 2010 – we were both at a Green Bay Packer bar in Chicago (Will’s Northwoods) with our friends. We do have some mutual friends so we had sort of planned on meeting up. The Packers were playing the Bears in the NFC Championship game to go to the Super Bowl… In Chicago… you can imagine the intensity pulsing through that city. We met, exchanged numbers and ended up hitting it off (over about 10-15 beers and 4-5 shots, lets be honest). The Packers went on to win, and then win the Super Bowl that year, it was SUCH a good year. We ended up dating long distance for 2+ years, as I was living in Madison, and he was in Chicago. It was SO hard, but we were committed and crazy about each other.
We both relocated in May 2013 to be together, and since then we’ve been busy…
- Adopting a kitty
- Getting engaged
- Planning a wedding/getting married
- Selling the Chicago condo
- Buying a home
- And last but definitely best, having a baby
We’re basically maxed on life points right now, so we’re going to settle in and enjoy the ride for a while. Case is my very best friend, he lifts me up when I need him, we laugh, cry and all the other mushy good stuff. It’s a super fun partnership and I can honestly say that I think I’m one of the lucky ones.
