Weekend Recap: Easy and Relaxed

As we wind down from the weekend, I can’t help but smile and soak in all of the joy around us. The last few days were just about as lazy and relaxed as it gets, but it reminded me of how fortunate we are in this crazy life. Our little man is so happy, and growing and makes us better people on the reg. He (and we) are lucky to have family who are constantly making sure he’s safe and sound, taken care of and loved so much. Yesterday I cleaned our bathroom. It is the first significant bathroom cleaning that we’ve had in months. I am embarrassed to admit this but also feel like it’s 100% acceptable to have a horrifying bathroom at 3 months in with a new baby. Oye, this was bad.  My sweet cousin Kerry came over on Friday morning to help out with D while I worked, and suggested I buy the new Keith Urban album (she went with me to Dixie Chicks last weekend, and shares my love of country music). So I followed her advice, and it’s amazing. There is even a song with Pitbull (OMG) and I love it so much. I listened to the album twice while scrubbing – and I’m not lying, it made it easier. You guys, clean your bathroom. Right now. I promise it’s worth it and makes everything better. There is something weirdly calming about walking into a very clean, sparkling bathroom. ❤

Grandpa J came and visited yesterday on his Harley and informed us that D has some sweet Harley apparel on the way (lol, can’t wait!) Today Aunt Marie came and hung out for a while, she loves her nephew so much, it’s unbelievable. Dane napped a lot today, way more than usual, and when he woke up we got so many treats. Happy tummy time + laughs (legitimate, real baby laughs) Wow – these will warm your soul. I dare you to watch these without smiling, you can’t. I love this kid…
