Bachelorette Shenanigans

Hey friends! I hope you had a productive Monday – I know I did, even though I felt a little bit like an extra from The Walking Dead. This past weekend was spent celebrating the upcoming nuptials of my very best girlfriend. Friday was more low-key but Saturday was a full on girls night out in Chicago. We stayed at the Hyatt Place downtown, in a beautiful suite with lots of room for dancing and eating Toppers on the floor at 3am.

The weather was perfect, so after getting checked in, we grabbed a quick lunch of appetizers at a restaurant with outdoor seating.

Then we took full advantage of the sunny + 75 degree day by taking a river and lake tour through the city. A friend of mine suggested Wendella’s Signature Lake & River Tour and it did not disappoint. We were able to snag some seats on the lower level of the boat (out of the direct sun) and the best part – close to the bar! 😉 The tour was the perfect length of time, we got to see some amazing architecture as well as going out into the lake for some beautiful city views. I love Chicago, and take every opportunity to visit whenever I can. My husband and I actually met there and he lived there for the first 2+ years we were dating. Long distance was hard, but we made some incredible memories so it’s close to my heart.

We headed back to the hotel, and of course had to do the “typical bachelorette thing and get pictures with the police” because duh, why not. The bride-to-be decided to take it a step further and take a joyride on the police bike, which was hilarious.

We were joined by two more girls for dinner and out for the night. There was sushi consumed at Sunda (I highly recommend), wine (and eventually some cocktails) flowing, and enough dancing to last me for a while… I am not made for this anymore, the shin splints were not expected! Overall, it was a super fun to let loose with the girls and celebrate one of the best friends out there. This was a solid warm-up for the wedding next month.
