Little Man Turns 9 Months!

Today was one of those days – one of those perfect days where you can’t help but feel so content. I’m sitting here in my perfectly messy house, with a fire warming the room and watching the beautiful snow fall outside of our window. We have a big pot of Chicken Noodle “all day soup” on the stove and the Christmas tree lights are twinkling. My nine month old is currently going on hour 2 of his 3rd long nap of the day – a little gift to a mom and dad who indulged in a few too many margaritas last night. 😉

Speaking of Dane – I am literally overwhelmed with disbelief that he is nine months old. I feel so lucky that we have a healthy, curious little guy who brings so much joy to our lives. I’ve talked about this before, but there is nothing quite like watching him experience winter and the holidays for the first time.

We got our first big Wisconsin snowfall today – and D was completely in awe of it. He reacted with a big smile and immediately stuck his tongue out to catch the flakes. `It amazes me every day how he knew what to do with no direction. It filled me with so much happiness.

So he’s nine months. It sort of hit me like a ton of bricks this morning. Our little baby isn’t really a baby anymore – but more and more like a little boy every day. He’s standing on his own now, and we know he’ll be taking steps in this next month. His hair is starting to get to mullet status… so we’re contemplating a first haircut…. I’m putting it off though because I just know it’s going to make him look even older. He’s loving every single thing we put on his tray to eat – including mac n cheese, turkey dogs, meatballs, mama’s chicken soup, ALL the yogurt, waffles and applesauce galore. He’s weighing in at about 20 lbs, but he’s tall so he’s still our string bean. His laughter is infectious and he’s just so damn cute.
