Dane’s 10 Month Update

Double digits! I know I say this every single month, but wow – D’s growing up too quickly! This past month has been very hard on our family, but it’s been by far my favorite with Dane’s development. He’s been “walking” for about a month now, taking a few steps here and there and holding onto furniture to navigate around. But over the New Year weekend, he absolutely mastered it and is walking in long stretches from room to room without tipping over. He’s pretty good at turning mid-stride and if he falls forward, he almost always puts his hands down so he doesn’t bump his face. It blows my mind how quickly he caught on, and was even navigating around a living room full of boxes at Christmastime.

He is an absolutely joyful little boy, he smiles and giggles constantly and loves to hear his own voice – he babbles all the time, saying mama, dada, and lots of other little phrases. We love talking to him and listening to him imitate what we say. He definitely loves his mom and dad, and clings pretty tight to us when we’re in public, but he always has a smile for anyone – though it may take a little warming up.

He is a PIGGIE! He loves to eat everything we put on his plate, and pretty much refuses to let us feed him from a spoon anymore – the big boy has to do it himself. He loves hot dogs, carrots, green beans and applesauce most, but always goes for yogurt and waffles too. We’ve been letting him try pretty much everything we eat and he doesn’t complain. His Great Aunt Anne recently bonded with him over a basket of fries and various dipping sauces including mustard and A1. 🙂

Time if flying and I know my monthly updates are nearing an end, but I’m so glad I took the time to write down the milestones and happy moments in our life. Till next time!
