Currently Loving…

Hey guys – I hope you’re having a great week so far. I have had a lot on my mind lately, but am focusing on positivity and optimism. Let’s admit it, there are just some weeks that are harder than others. So I truly think that if you set intentions to have a good day – you’ll be 100% more successful than if you focus on negativity. I’m the kind of person that ebbs and flows when it comes to my routine. I tend to get really obsessed with a few things for a while, and then move onto the next; it must be my need for change and a bit of creativity in life.

So on that lighter note – I thought I’d share a few of my current loves.

Lash Boost by Rodan + Fields – I know, I know… if you’re a woman and have the internet – you know about R+F. I do not sell it, but I do use the products and I love them. I have been always been conscious of my skincare and even started using anti-aging lotions in college like a psycho. When I started using these products – I fell instantly in love and honestly look forward to washing my face every single day. When they came out with this new product for eyelash growth, I had to try it. I’ve been using it for approximately 5 months now and I can honestly say – this stuff works. I no longer feel like I need to wear a lot of eye makeup. Just give me some mascara and I’m out the door. I even feel good without anything at all, and that’s kind of insane to me. R+F has a higher price point… but its worth it, because hello, it’s your face, it’s not like it’s easy to just get a new one. If you want to know more, let me know – I can get you in touch with a great R+F rep!

Young Living Essential Oils – Stress is a real thing, and I’m working HARD to pacify it in many ways. In fact, I just wrote a blog about breaking up with stress recently. One of the things I’ve been more into lately is using essential oils. We diffuse them in our home and feel great about no extra chemicals going into the air. I add a few drops into a warm bath when I need to unwind (lavender, frankincense and stress-away are favorites). I also have been using it directly on my pressure points (wrists, temples, behind the ears) to help focus my breathing and re-center. If you’re interested in learning more about oils – let me know!

My Favorite Murder Podcast – I’ve been getting into podcasts recently, mostly because I’ve got a commute and it’s a great way to pass the time. I discovered this one through a friend and I’m loving it so far. It’s hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark – who are two badass chicks that are fascinated by true crime and discussing murders (sounds morbid, but it’s great entertainment + a lot of history too). My group of friends is a Keith Morrison/Dateline loving circle, and this feels so familiar.File_000

PiYo Workout – I am a workout program bandwagon member. I love to try all the new
trends and there have been a lot. However, my all time favorite way to sweat (besides swimming) is yoga, specifically hot yoga. I can’t seem to find a studio in my area that I’m in love with (plus it can be kind of spendy) so I decided to try PiYo by Beachbody – thanks to my sister for gifting it to me! It’s safe to say, I’m obsessed – it even gets me out of bed at 5:30 am… with a smile. I’ve been doing the program for about 6 weeks now, maybe 3-4 times per week and everything feels stronger. I LOVE.

Smoothies – I’m late to this party, BUT I’ve been sort of obsessed with smoothies lately. I need some new recipes though because my go-to of mixed berries, Greek yogurt and spinach is getting a little boring. Please share what your favorites are!

Med Salad from Noodles – I had a love affair with this salad approximately 5 years ago
when I was living in Madison near a Noodles with a drive-thru. I love the spicy med dressing and NEED to find a copycat recipe immediately. This salad is so good and low in calories (400 for the regular size), that it makes it bearable to go to Noodles without ordering the Mac N Cheese for a mere 1,100 calories – OMG.

So there you have it, a few of my favorite obsessions (at least for the moment). Here’s hoping the rest of your week moves quickly! We’re celebrating Casey’s birthday this weekend up at my parent’s cabin. I’m really looking forward to some down time in the north woods with family. xo
