Happy Thursday! We’re having some stormy weather over here today and I’m loving it. Anyone else? Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy bright sunshiny days just as much as the next person but there’s something so cozy about a dark sky, the sound of rain falling and the smell of the wet pavement and grass. I’m ending my few days of solo-parenting and Casey arrived home from his work trip this afternoon. Thankfully, our big boy was really good to his mama and slept well, ate well and gave lots of sweet snuggles. He really missed his daddy though – constantly questioning me, “Dada?”, “Dada outside?”, “Dada mow-mow?” I just kept thinking, yes honey – I miss him too, he’ll be home soon. Needless to say, we’re all happy to have dada back, including the cat. 🙂
I wanted to share of few of my latest faves with you tonight. I absolutely have my daily essentials, but sometimes I get a little obsessed with a product and want to shout about it to anyone who’ll listen.
Local Eclectic / Carrie Elizabeth Jewelry
For Mother’s Day this year I decided to treat myself to a right-hand ring. I’ve been searching for a loooong time for one that was meaningful, good quality and affordable. I suppose because of this extensive search, Instagram’s algorithm conveniently served me a sponsored post for Local Eclectic and I knew I had hit the jackpot. You guys, this jewelry is unique, dreamy and so beautiful, I had a hard time choosing. They feature jewelry from emerging indie designers across the globe and believe in making beautiful, well made jewelry accessible. I had a seriously hard time deciding which ring to purchase, but settled on a gorgeous aquamarine triangle. It’s Dane’s birthstone and oh-so pretty. Those who know me well also know I tend to decorate with this color – making it a front-runner from the beginning. The ring is from designer Carrie Elizabeth, who is located in London and her stuff is amazing. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone back to browse and swoon over these beauts. I’m already plotting my next purchase!
Young Living Oils (Lavender + Lemon + Peppermint Allergy blend)
I am definitely a novice when it comes to oils – I’ve been using them in our home for about a year now but took the plunge over Christmastime and became a distributor for Young Living. We use oils mainly for diffusing, but I’ve been getting more into creating my own blends and wearing oils as a replacement for my “perfume”. While I still love my chemical laden perfumes and still use them from time to time (sorry to my oily friends) – not only are oils natural, to me they smell like a spa and hello, who doesn’t love the spa?
This particular blend has been my favorite lately and is known in the oil world as the allergy trio. I suffer from seasonal allergies – sneezing, itchy twitchy eyes and the works, so this particular blend has been comforting to me the past few weeks. To a glass roller container I added 15 drops of each: lavender, peppermint and lemon as well as carrier oil (fractionated coconut oil) and I use it on my neck, wrists and as needed. Voila – instant spa and allergy relief!
If you have questions about oils – I can certainly put you in contact with someone who knows a whole lot more than me! 🙂

I stumbled upon this brand at Target one day when I was running lunchtime errands and was starving. Most frozen meals are “diet food” and honestly pretty gross but this brand makes really delicious, organic REAL food. I’ve tried a bunch of the options and they are all super tasty and satisfying. Favorites include: Truffle Parm Mac n Cheese & Portabella and Goat Cheese Ravioli, I like to add frozen broccoli to ramp up the vitamins and help keep me full longer. Yum, now I’m hungry.
Audible
I have about a 30-minute commute to and from work. While I don’t love the extra time in the car, I’ve found the best way to make the drive fly by: audiobooks! I’ve always loved to read and still enjoy cuddling up with a good book, but lets be honest – those days are few and far between with Dane taking up most of my “relaxation” time. My only real alone time these days is in the car… so I’ve been making the best out of it by escaping into a book for about an hour a day. There are millions of great stories to choose from and the app works through Amazon so it’s seamless. Lately I’ve been loving the Delirium series by Lauren Oliver. I’m just about finished with book 3 so if anyone has suggestions – let me know!
Anderson Lilley Lotion
So this one I actually received in my editor’s box from FabFitFun! I’d heard SUCH good things about this subscription box so I decided to try for myself. I loved almost every single product I received and am anxiously awaiting the summer edition that is scheduled to arrive on Monday! Eeeee!
Back to this lotion – I got the Winter in Manhattan Beach scent and it is heaven. It’s the perfect mix of light beachy notes + something a little earthy. It’s silky and moisturizing without being greasy and I’m going through the bottle quickly.
I’m thinking about doing a little recap of the products in the summer box next week so stay tuned. If you’ve been contemplating signing up, I recommend it. It’s a really awesome quarterly treat for yourself! Check it out here: http://xo.fff.me/fIluV
So there are my latest loves. I’d love to hear about what your favorite things are too! I’m working from home tomorrow, and am excited to wake up slowly and enjoy my coffee without the usual morning rush. If it’s nice weather I have big plans of setting up my patio office! We’re going to spend this weekend soaking up the sun and enjoying time with family – I hope you do the same!
